Beauville Arts Studio
The Rock Academy is open to any student with experience in playing a musical instrument or singing in a Rock and Pop environment. Although there is no definitive entry level, students should be fluent enough to learn new songs quickly, understand and play chords, create and perform within small ensemble groups. Students should have a serious attitude towards their music. The week is aimed at students with some songwriting and live playing experience who wish to extend their playing technique, writing skills and studio recording knowledge.
aim of the Rock Academy is to give students a training in different
aspects of the popular music industry. During the week students of
the Rock Academy will receive tuition on their instrument/voice, as
well as take part in workshops on songwriting, arranging, promotion
and the music business. Small groups will be formed and rehearsals
will be directed by our specialised tutors. Throughout the week students
will have access to the Beauville
Arts recording studio and a qualified sound engineer and they
will be able to record original songs and covers in their groups.
All recordings made on the course will be available to students. On
the final night of each week students will perform 'live' to the public,
parents and friends.
